South African Backgammon Association (SABGA) currently comprises two founding clubs, Cape Town Backgammon and Johannesburg Backgammon Club, as well as a couple of newer clubs hosting regular backgammon meetups: Hout Bay Backgammon and Tokai Backgammon Club.

We are always open to helping other communities of South African backgammon players (around the country or around the world) establish themselves and get on the backgammon map! So, please get in touch should you want some support, promotion of your events, etc

We are hoping that a backgammon society will pop-up at a South African university soon – watch this space…
